I am aware that a lot of us are unaware of the changes in Parliament to puppy factories. In October, after a lot of publicity about Oscars Law and protesters making their feelings heard, Parliament made changes. They gave the RSPCA more prosecution powers, brought in laws about how many breeding dogs were allowed to be kept, and also on the condition of their enclosures. The RSPCA now has the authority to investigate more complaints, when before it was up to the local councils. If anyone wants more informations email the Agriculture Minister peter.walsh @parliament.vic.gov.au
As far as I am concerned it is not enough but we are not giving up on more improvements and outlawing puppy factories altogether.
Please remember that if you buy a puppy from a pet shop you are keeping the demand going for this type of behaviour.
I hope that this clears up a lot of concerns people have.
