Often when describing Barney I use the saying he wouldn't heart a fly. I was thinking about this the other day and realized that it is in fact not true as Barney does catch flies and eat them. He never used to do this but copied it from our kitten Peppa. When we got Peppa I didn't no how Barney would react, as this was our first real pet other then Barney. We were not sure if he would like having a new member of the family or if he would be jealous. In the end they turned out to be best friends. At first they barely went near each other but as Peppa grew more aware of her surroundings she got up the courage to meet him. This day was one I will never forget, the day Barney became best friends with his little sister. Although Peppa was younger she was like a role model for Barney and he would spend hours following her around the house copping every thing she did. He loved her company and she loved his. They would do every thing together. They would cuddle up close on cold nights and on hot summers days they would both sit together under our fan. He loved her so much, and when he saw her one day chasing after a fly he was interested she then eat it, and he then copied. Soon enough every day they would take turns watching each other catch flies. Barney still carries this tradition but sadly Peppa is no longer with us as at the start of 2011, 1 week away from her first birthday she was sadly hit by a car, and had to many injuries we had to put her down. I found it hard saying good by and it broke my hart when and caught Barney sitting at the window where he would watch her catching flies waiting for her. He sat there for many days waiting for the arrival of his best friend but she never came. It’s been almost a year since that day and we now have a new cat. He is now friends with our new kitty, but no friend ship was as great as the one he had with Peppa and both him and I miss her greatly.
Any way I still catch him every now and again catching flies or sitting at the window waiting for her, but I think he understands and when it is time for him to go I can say with no doubts that she will be waiting at the haven gates for him, where they will be best friends once again.

Oh Brianna, I am sorry to hear that you and Barney lost Peppa in such a terrible way, Peppa sounded like she and Barney had a great time together and were the gtreatest of friends even if it was only for a  short time, given time Barney and the new kitten will become great friends too.

Thanks I hope Barney and our new cat will become great friends to even though compared to peppa and Barney they are nothing alike.
